Switching from one hosting provider to another requires doing some homework to begin with.
There are thousands of hosting providers with all levels of customer service to consider when selecting your hosting provider. If you know 90% of what you need to do with your website, and just occasionally need to ask a question or two, then just being able to get a hold of the hosting email service department won’t be any big deal. However, if you need your hand held from the beginning to the end, with the hosting provider doing most of the work, then you might want to have a hosting provider that has phone assistance too. However, there is another however.
Just because a hosting provider offers phone customer support does not mean that it won’t cost you substantially more than you thought in the first place. This is because many of the fine prints in the hosting agreements have legal terminology that make it so that every customer service call, even if it’s a simple question, is going to cost you a minimum of $75.00 or more.
So, before you make the plunge, and think that maybe having your own dedicated server is the thing to do for your business, ask the question; Am I prepared to spend a lot more money for my web hosting service?
Note: There are other hosting provider options just short of going to a dedicated server or virtual dedicated server, that can supply your business with everything it needs to run a website.

Going round and round in my mind, trying to figure out how to auto-respond and stop future spam to the respond address. With cheap labor around the world, I wouldn’t be surprised if the spammers are using people in addition to the spam bots to collect email addresses.

How long does it take for new name servers to be updated on the Internet?
The answer is: very quickly to a couple of days.
Found out first hand when switching a half a dozen or so of websites from one hosting service to another. A couple of name servers were updated immediately, while other ones I am still waiting for after six or eight hours.
This is a typical situation that occurs when switching website hosting providers.
Tip
Don’t close out the old web hosting account, until the new one is up and running and the new name servers have been updated on the web.
Ping your domain name before and after making the update.
Pinging is easy with the command prompt from your computer. Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt. Then type ping mywebhostingsource.com or what ever name you have for your website. The IP information will be displayed. Note what the IP address is before, so you can see what the IP address is after the Name Server changes.
